BY WAY OF INTRODUCTION ...

Sometimes in your life you discover new passion and new meaning. That happened to me when I went to the jungles of Borneo in 2001 to see orangutans. Now a book I wrote about them called The Intimate Ape is being published in the United States in March 2010. So that will explain the unusual preoccupations of my blog, which may not be to everyone's taste. But, if the blog works for you, so much the better.
